It can be really boring to stay inside the house all day just to avoid the sun. There are times when have to go out like when we want to hit the beach or simply will need to go to work. Just because our skin is said to be our first line of defense it doesn't really mean that we shouldn't take care of it. We have to care for our skin too since healthy skin can really improve and enhance a woman's appearance. But how will you protect your skin? Simply use sun block or sun screen whenever you go out. Applying sun block may sound simple but here are a few helpful tips that will help you get the most out of it. 1. Consider the sunscreen's SPF level. Remember that the higher the SPF level the more you are protected. Other than that there are also things that you have to consider when deciding on the SPF level. Having fair skin coupled with prolonged exposure to the sun will require you to use a sun block that has a high SPF level. 2. It would also be best if you use a sun screen that blocks both the UVA and UVB rays. We all know that these two rays have two very different effects on your skin. The UVA will cause you to have premature wrinkles while the UVB rays will cause sun burn. Using a sun screen that blocks both rays will keep you from having wrinkles and at the same time from suffering sun burns. 3. Prior to application, wash your face or your body with warm water. If you use it for your face alone wash your face and clean it with a moisturizing facial cleanser. Do not use soap as soap can dry up your skin. After washing, dry your skin but do not overdo it as sun screens are absorbed best when the skin is warm and moist. 4. Applying sun block with make up on is really not a good idea. For it to really work, sun block should be what you should apply first. There should be nothing between your skin and the sun block. 5. Use the right amount of sunscreen. Sun screen works best if you apply it liberally. Do not try to cut down on its use. Remember that using sun screen everyday will help save your skin from aging and sun burn. By applying more sunscreen unto your skin you will also increase its efficacy. 6. Leave it alone. Do not apply anything right after putting on the sun block. When you finished applying it let your skin absorb it by leaving it alone for 10-15 minutes before you put anything else like make up and moisturizers. The more it is absorbed, the better it will work. 7. At times when you have to stay under the sun for more than 2 hours then it would be best for you to reapply your sunscreen. The number of reapplications will also depend on how long you will stay exposed to the sun's rays. For better protection reapply frequently especially if your going to stay out the whole day. 8. Do not make it exclusive for your face alone. Remember that your other body parts are exposed to the sun too so it would be best to apply sun screen to these parts as well. Applying sun block to all exposed body parts will give you more protection from the sun's rays. It would be really unsightly to have a face that's wrinkle free while your arms and other extremities are all burned and wrinkly. 9. For better protection make it a habit to use sunscreen or sun block. Make the application a part of your morning ritual. By doing this, you will be able to maintain the health of your skin and of course save yourself from the dilemma of having to deal with the evidence of aging especially when it is premature. 10. In cases when you have to go into the water or if you are the kind of person who sweats a lot then a water resistant sun block would serve you best. Sometimes the beauty of a woman will depend on the type of skin she has. The more flawless the skin, the more beautiful she becomes. Other than that by using sun block everyday she also decreases her chances of having skin cancer. |
