Seven Basic Skin Care Tips

Skin care is as important as taking your vitamins, so here some tips you should keep in mind.

1. It is of utmost importance that you clean your face once or twice a day depending on your skin type. Cleansing will remove the dirt that has settled on your skin which if not removed can clog your pores.

When cleaning your face, choose a cleanser that is right for your skin type. For example, if you have oily skin, use oil-free cleansers.

When cleaning your face, you can use a wash cloth or your fingertips to apply the cleanser. Do not forget to rinse properly. When rinsing, make sure that there is no cleanser residue left.

2. Dead skin cells are being shed every 28 days or more. If these dead skin cells are left on the surface it will make your skin look dull and wrinkly. To solve this, you might have to exfoliate every two weeks.

However, if you want to maintain smooth and healthy looking skin, you can use these exfoliating products everyday as long as it is gentle enough to use frequently. When choosing exfoliating products, always look for one that fits your skin type.

3. It would also be helpful if you apply facial creams the contain AHAs or alpha-hydroxy acid. This compound will help combat free radicals that can cause premature aging. In addition, it also stimulates the growth of collagen which can help make your skin look young and supple.

4. Do not wait for your skin to get dry; instead, moisturize as often as possible especially if you have dry skin or you are living in a area that is very hot. When applying moisturizer, apply it right after taking a warm shower. In this manner, your pores are open and more moisture will be trapped.

Choose a moisturizer that best suits your skin type. Apply some moisturizer as well on the area underneath the eyes.

5. Remember that the sun emits harmful ultraviolet rays. These rays can really do some damage to your skin and can cause skin cancer. Do your skin a favor and don on some protection. When going out, do not forget to put on sublock.

Choose a sunblock that has a sun protection factor of 30 and up. Also, wear sunglasses as this will protect your eyes and keep you from squinting. Squinting frequently can result to the formation of crow's feet on the corners of the eye. If possible, bring an umbrella with you especially if you are going to be exposed under the sun for some time.

6. Eating a healthy diet can also help you have beautiful skin. Remember that the food we eat can also affect our skin. Eating foods that are rich in minerals and vitamins can help you have the skin that you want. So rather than eating fast food, drinking and smoking, you might as well try to eat something healthy and see the difference for yourself.

7. Too much stress can take its toll on your skin. So from time to time give your skin a break and relax.
