If there is one problem that seems to haunt almost every single woman in this world it is having unwanted hair. Most women would prefer a hairless body rather than having a few body hairs here and there. There are various body products that are created specifically to remove hair. Here are some hair removal body products. 1. Hair Removal Lotions or Creams. This type of body product is otherwise known or generally termed as depilatories. Most depilatories can either be in the form of lotions or creams and are applied on the surface of the skin to remove hair. The chemical content of these depilatories work on the protein structure of the hair. The protein reacts with the hair and it can be wiped or washed away with ease. In order for it to work, the depilatory has to be left on the skin for a certain amount of time before you wash or wipe it off. Removing hair using this type can result to you being hair free for a number of days up to two weeks depending on the person. Depilatories can be bought at your local drugstore and department store plus it is also easy to use. Hair removal lotions and creams can be used on the legs and arms and even on the face. In addition, this product is inexpensive. However, using this can be messy especially if you are not used to it and it is your first time to use it. Some women also find the odor nauseating. Depilatories are also not recommended for women with sensitive skin because they can react to some of the chemical content and they might end up doing more harm to their skin. Lastly, if you leave depilatories on your skin for more than the specified amount of time, it can burn your skin so make sure that you read the instructions before you start using it. Take note of special reminders and some specifications. 2. Wax. Wax is another body product that is made to specifically aid in the removal of unwanted hair. When a wax is used to remove hair, this process is otherwise known as waxing. In waxing, a thin layer of wax is applied unto the skin. Then, a cloth strip is placed over it and pulled off quickly removing the hair along with the dead skin cells. The wax can either be heated or applied cold and this process can either be done in the salon or at home. When you use wax to remove unwanted hair, you can stay hair free for as long as six weeks. Again, this will vary from person to person. This is the preferred way to remove hair because it removes the hair at the roots thus, when the hair grows back, the new hair looks less noticeable. It also leaves the skin smooth. Wax kits are available from your local drugstore. The only thing about using wax to remove unwanted hair is the pain one has to suffer. Some women might find this unbearable at first but eventually they get used to it. For wax to really adhere to the hair, grow it to about ¼ inch first before waxing. If it is your first time, it might help if you go to a salon to get all waxed up to get an idea on how to do it. Wax should not be refrigerated as it can be stored at room temperature. Also, avoid overheating the wax or else it will lose its sticky consistency. |
